| Since I've never used a "good" set of knives before, I didn't rate these a "five" because I don't have the experience to know if they get any better. I can hardly imagine better. They make food prep a relative breeze. When I went shopping for these, I was actually just looking for one 8-inch chef's knife, a specific type, not just a description. The Vicorinox brand had gotten the highest marks from "Cook's Illustrated" besting much more expensive knives. However, nowhere in the product description or in any of the reviews could I find out what each of these knives were: I ordered them anyway. They are a 10-inch chef's knife, an 8-inch slicer and a 6-inch parer. I might have been happier with just the 8-inch chef knife, but this way I have three really good knives, not just one. |

| Did all the comparison shopping (Cook's Illustrated, munity) and landed here (with the Kapoosh knife block which is stupendous) and am such a happy cook. Also ordered the boning knife. With these knives I realized I never had a really sharp knife before and what a difference it makes. The paring knife peeled kohlrabi (one of my favorite raw veggies) like going through butter instead of wood. Can't believe I waited so long to get the right tools to be a happy cook. |

I purchased my set from 's warehouse at a discount because the box was torn. As I was buying them for myself, that wasn't in issue for me and saved me a decent amount.
For years, over 25, I've had a great knife made from Brazilian steel. Great handle, and held an edge for all 25 plus years. Alas, it no longer does.
I bought some decent knives at stores, but none held an edge for very long.
I read reviews on these and since I was able to get them at a really good price, I went made the purchase.
I am glad I did. These knives are sharp and well made. |

| My son needed some new kitchen knives for his apartment. We did not want to spend a lot since he is still a college student but we did want a decent set of knives because he does enjoy cooking. These knives were perfect. They were reasonably priced and the quality was excellent! They are comfortable in the hand and the knives that come in the set are what a basic cook would need. These are knives that he will be able to have for a long time. |
