    Six Feet Under: Complete Series2010-08-303 / 5
First of all, I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes drama mixed with dark humor and the occassional just-being-goofy type of joke. However, when I ordered this it did not come with the booklet or the 2 CDs it was supposed to. The seller was very helpful in trying to make it right by either giving me a full or partial refund, but I didn't want to go through the hastle and besides, it was the manufacturer's fault. Plus, I have come across a couple of discs that have something on them which cause the discs to skip and freeze and whatever the substance was just won't come off. I destroyed one disc trying to clean it and had to go out and buy season 2 just so that I could see that last 2 episodes. So in short, I say this series is worth the money...just don't buy this particular set.
    A wonderful show2010-08-214 / 5
I just spent the last 8 weeks watching this with my partner. We fell in love with the show and enjoyed the series immensely. The characters are wonderful and the acting is top notch. It was hard to let them go as the series came to an end.

I would say the first 2 seasons are the best and the last 5 or so episodes of the last season too.
I think the show loses it's way for a while and stops blending humor and drama and goes a bit overly soapy/angsty for a while but eventually gets back on track.

If you are looking for a series Drama about life and death and the ups and downs of Marriage ,mortality and surviving life, than this is the show for you. It was also refreshing to see a realistic dipiction of not only Straight couples and the problems they must tackle together on an every day basis but also a gay couple which I have not seen realisticly portrayed on TV without the stereotyping.

Hats off to Alan Ball and the Actors and writers of this show. It's now one of my all time favorites.
Perfect gift for Six Feet Under fans!2010-08-035 / 5
I purchased the series gift set for my sister-in-law who is a big fan of the show. She was so excited when she opened the package. Not only was the box itself really cool with artifical grass on the top, it contained all the videos from the series AND a music CD from the show. It was the perfect gift! Quick shipment and top quality product.
    Overrated2010-07-043 / 5
The characters are caricatures of themselves, and the overall tone is overly emotive and manipulative. All art is manipulative but here the manipulations are simplistic. I have nearly finished the second season but don't think I will carry on. I am weary of these whiny, myopic characters and the mediocre writers behind them. I did give three stars because I think the show's premise is fantastic, and the casting too. Nothing wrong with the acting. It's the writing. There's just too much good TV on DVD out there to waste your time on anything "meh". Ciao, Fishers.
i agree with david a stein, deeply flawed, over rated show2010-04-022 / 5
i agree pretty much 100% with Adrian m Bush and david a stein. and I find it funny that the people commenting on his review couldnt help but insult him. I always enjoy when people insult real human beings in order to defend fictional charcters (sarcasm). Maybee you guys identify with the Jeckle and Hydedness of the show. The characers personalities change 180 degrees over and over again, in an unrealistic manner. I dont know how anyone can say thats realistic, peoples perceptions of each other change alot, but people dont actual change much at all, certainly not in under 5 years (unless its under the most extreme circumstances). Every character cheeted practicaly, half attempted to "experiment" with the same sex, half?? .. come on.. And SPOILERS NEXT.. How bout the pretty much impossible sequence of random life altering calamites as well.. Familys father dies in car accident, Nate dies of a brain hemorage, Keith dies of gun shots, Brenda looses a baby, Nates wife is killed or commits suicide (and her brother in law shoots himself in front of nate), David is beaten and threatened with death, they happend to addopt a really horrible trouble making child (that miraculously changes at just the right moment. What other horrible things happen?? hmm.. Oh ya. Ruths new husband spontaneously turns crazy (and dont tell me it wasnt spontaneous, the writers just decided to arbitrarily change the charcter, i dont care what kind of bogus back up story they created after the fact).. perhaps the worst thing is that the show is one big long argument during which everyone always takes opposing views and flip flops back and forth, nobody ever heard of compromise?? or just letting things go?? that pretty much sums up the show.. Horrible things happening to mostly horrible people who are engaging in 5 years of continuous arguing for your viewing pleasure. The funny thing is that I loved the first 2 seasons.. somewhat similar to David A Stein, and it just got totaly insane after that..
